Zalgo Text Generator
Corrupt your text with stacked combining marks, from a light glitch to full horror-movie chaos, in three intensities you can copy with one click.
Quick answer: Zalgo text stacks Unicode combining marks (accents meant to modify one letter) far beyond their intended use, dozens per character, until the text appears to melt or glitch. It is still plain text, so it pastes into Discord, X, Instagram and most chats.
How to Use the Zalgo Text Generator

Why Zalgo Text "Bleeds" Above and Below the Line
Combining marks are legitimate Unicode, accents, tildes and underdots that attach to the previous letter. Text renderers dutifully draw every one you add, and they never expected dozens per character. Stack enough of them and the marks overflow the line above and below, creating the iconic dripping-corruption look.
The name comes from a 2004 internet horror meme ("Zalgo, he who waits behind the wall"), and the style became shorthand for creepypasta, glitch aesthetics and Halloween posts. Some platforms cap combining marks, LinkedIn trims extreme stacks, Discord and X render them fully, which is why the Mild level exists.
