How to Bold Text on X (Twitter)
Regular X posts have no formatting toolbar. Here is the two-minute workaround that makes text bold in posts, replies, bios and display names.
Quick answer: type your text below, copy the bold version, and paste it into X. The bold letters are Unicode characters, real text that renders bold for every reader. One caveat: X counts them as two characters each toward the 280 limit.

The Faster Way: Bold Inside the X Composer
Copy-paste works, but it gets old if you post daily. - The 280 limit counts bold letters twice. A 40-character bolded sentence costs about 80 characters of budget. Bold your hook or key phrase, keep the rest plain.
- Real bold exists only in X Articles. Long-form Articles (a Premium feature) have a rich-text editor. Everything else, posts, replies, bios, uses the Unicode approach on this page.
- Hashtags and mentions must stay plain. A styled #hashtag is not recognized as a hashtag, and a styled @handle does not link. Style the words around them instead.
- Search does not match styled words. Anyone searching a bolded keyword will not find it, so never style the terms you want to be discovered by.
